Why should we leave planet Earth purely because our forefathers followed unsustainable practices that have led to our ingrained methods of living. Surely its time for a change. We don’t work out in the field because the climate is hot and inhospitable, the same applies for the food that we grow. Surely we should be farming indoors and recycling the water through our zircons just like we do in the buildings that we work in her our offices. 100 years ago 90% of the population was working on the field, now only 20% works on the field. Back then the general populous would have never dreamed of a desk job. Now 80% of the population would not dream of a job out in the field. Leave the labour to the robots and start getting creative. Use Canva to figure out creative marketing strategies and leave your robot to do all the labour for you. Slaves? Lets get real… Robots should do all of our hard work so that we can relax and spend the short time that we have enjoying our lives. It’s a well know fact that hard working poor families are unhappy. Wealthy families enjoy leisurely vacations and live longer happier lives. Let’s get robots to focus on the time consuming tasks that are monotonous so that we as humans can focus on what matters to us, like spending time with family, leisure and social experiences. I for one have never bought into the notion that I need a job to buy happiness. Let’s figure out a method of funding farmers with land, robots and infrastructure. We can fund the investment with their crop yield. Their crops will provide valuable data for the development of this tech and their crops will pay for the research. Their harvest will also be more accurate to predict with a closed environment like indoor vertical farming.
